  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • oz (100 g) butter

Method

In a large saucepan brown the onions in the butter, add the other vegetables and cook for 15 minutes. Add pints (2 litres) water and the salt and pepper. Bring to the boil and simmer for 45 minute
