Foie gras is the food of kings and Arab princes – and also the French, especially at Christmas time. Sadly, the method of preparing this great delicacy is rather barbaric (the force-feeding of the geese to produce the abnormally large liver). The farmers, of course, deny any cruelty. And I must admit that it has never stopped me from enjoying it. Sorry.
