This makes a change from plain rice as an accompaniment. It is a bit more substantial.

Ingredients

  • generous ¾ cup green lentils
  • cups long-grain rice, washed under cold running water until the wat

Method

Put the lentils and rice into a large bowl and soak in cold water for 2 hours.

Heat the ghee butter in a skillet and gently cook the onion and garlic until they are soft.

Add the spices and seasonings and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.

Drain the rice and lentils and add to the onion, garlic, and spices in the skillet, stirring well to make sure all the grains are coated in th
