This recipe is very simple, if a little time-consuming, but worth it for that authentic Indian taste.


  • 1⅔ cups white bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon


Sift the flour and salt into a large bowl and sprinkle in the yeast. Make a well in the center and add ¾ cup of warm water, the honey, and butter and mix together well.

Knead until you have a silky dough, then cover and let stand in a warm place for 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in siz
