Ingredients

  • vegetable oil
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ½ teaspoon fenugreek seeds

Method

  1. Mix together all the masala ingredients with a little water to form a very dry paste.
  2. Heat the oil and fry the cumin and fenugreek seeds until they crackle. Stir in the masala and cook for 2 or 3 minutes, then add the tomatoes and chillies. Season to taste with salt. Mix well together and cook gently until the tomatoes start to soften.
