After we had finished filming at Laguardia, a splendid walled town in the Rioja country, we drove to Bilbao from where we were to fly to Barcelona. I was pleased to be going back to Bilbao because years ago I had sailed there and had found a wonderful street full of tapas bars and little restaurants. We had spent a happy evening zig-zagging from one to the other, eating olives, ham, fish, salt cod, broad beans and all manner of wonderful things, washed down with lashings and lashings
