I’ve taught this scrumptious pie recipe for years in my cooking classes. I usually use Cortland or Spartan apples, but most apples will work well.
Prepare pastry and chill as directed. Roll out 1 portion into a large circle and place in ungreased 9-inch pie plate. Trim off overhanging edges. Sprinkle with bread crumbs.
Slicer: Cut apples to fit feed tube. Slice, using medium pressure.
