The Guelaguetza, also called Lunes del Cerro (Monday of the Hill), is held on the Cerro del Fortin in Oaxaca in July, in pre-Hispanic times it was one of the celebrations in which the Indian peoples honored the deity of corn, Centeotl, and prayed for good harvests.
