The National Park La Campana in the Valparaíso region is the country’s largest reserve of Chilean palm trees. The much-loved syrup produced from the sap of these trees is called honey by Chileans, and it gives a special flavour to drinks and desserts. Luxurious marrons glacés are chestnuts that are preserved in syrup and then candied; they are popular at Christmas, but are available throughout the year online.
