Simplicity. Well, beach-side stuff has to be. Some wizened kindly creature on an Ambon beach gave me this, pre-snorkel.
Pound the garlic with the salt to a purée, add the chillies and crush further. Pound in the sugar and then the crushed toasted peanuts, kecap manis or soy sauce, and lemon or lime juice. Serve with the prepared sour fruits and sweet potato sticks.
