Spicy chicken casserole

Kotopoulo kokkinisto alonnisou is the traditional chicken dish on Alonnisos. It is rather special, so tends to be reserved for Sundays and religious festivals. However, it is also often on the menu at Meltemi, our favourite restaurant on the beach of Megalos Mourtias. In Greece, it is usually served with plain rice or orzo, the small tear-shaped pasta that is called kritharaki in Greek, or, for a treat, with some home-made thick fried potatoes.
