Tigania is a classic meze in the city of Thessaloniki and indeed in the whole of Macedonia. There isn’t a self-respected ouzerie or a mezethopolio in the region that wouldn’t have it on its menu. What’s more, such is the dish’s fame and popularity that it has spread all over Greece in recent years, so we find it in ouzerie in Volos and restaurant menus in Alonnisos, as well as in homes.
