Fish widow

This dish gets its strange name from a legend about a fisherman’s wife who died of a broken heart when her husband betrayed her: her ghost would haunt him at night, dressed as a bride and smelling of fish. It can be prepared with fresh or dried fish. Colombians traditionally use a river fish called bocachico. In some places it is still cooked in clay pots, and it’s great for an evening on the beach with everyone sitting around the fire and eating out of coconut cups.
