Both adults and children love these little sugar-topped cookies, which are often served during afternoon get-togethers. The little rounds are the most popular shape, but some people make them into half-moons and others cut a little cross into them.

Ingredients

  • 115 g/4 oz/½ cup butter, plus extra for greasing

  1. Cream the butter with the sugar until very creamy and light. Beat in the vanilla extract.
