Crabs are plentiful in Brazil and can be found along its vast shoreline, long rivers and extensive marshlands. The ‘siri’ in the name of this dish refers to a large land crab mainly found in northern Brazil, and ‘casquinha’ refers to the crab shell that is traditionally used for serving. This dish is ideal for entertaining, especially if you use the crab shells instead of ramekins to bake it in.
