Avocado trees are well suited to the Brazilian climate and often grow to a majestic size, producing fruit three or four times the size of avocados sold in supermarkets in the rest of the world. Their flesh is creamy, buttery and sweet, and in Brazil they feature more in sweet recipes, and are only occasionally used in savoury dishes.

Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe avocados
  • 60 ml/4 tbsp caster (superfine) sugar, or to taste
