There are many methods for boiled eggs. Some start with the egg being put in boiling water and then simmered for enough time to render it anywhere from soft to hard. Others start with the egg being placed in cold water, brought to the boil, and simmered for a shorter time to reach the same final result. I prefer to simmer for a short time and rest the egg in the hot water for a period of time. I believe this results in a softer-textured white. But it’s your choice as to which method works b
