Break the tough ends off the asparagus. Set up a saucepan of boiling water and place a steamer basket on top. Put the asparagus in the basket, cover and steam for about 4–5 minutes, depending on their size. Remove when cooked and toss in extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, freshly ground pepper and enough fresh lemon juice to balance the flavour.
