Here is a tip for foolproof rice every time – get a rice cooker and follow the directions. It really is a fantastic piece of equipment; I would hate to have to live without mine.
This is the classic steamed rice that one would serve with Asian food, but it is also perfect for all braised dishes and saucy ones. The washing of the rice is very important and so is adding just the right amount of water to the saucepan.
