  • About

This simple unleavened bread is made with gram flour, a pale yellow powdery flour, made from chickpeas, that has a mild earthy flavour. Slices of fainá are often served alongside pizza, and Argentinians enjoy a slice of this placed on top of a slice of pizza and eaten together like a sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 300 g/11 oz/ cups gram flour
  • 900

Method

  1. Put the gram flour in a bowl, and pour in the water and oil. Using a balloon or electric whisk, mix until the batter is smooth and lump-free. Season with salt and pepper. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill for 2 hours.
