Arrope originated in Spain where it is made from freshly pressed grape juice. Introduced to Argentina during colonization, it is sometimes made with cactus fruit instead of grapes. Serve spooned over fresh figs, with shortbread biscuits.

  1. Wash the grapes and place in wide shallow bowl or container. Sprinkle the sugar over the grapes, cover and chill overnight.
