Argentinians love ice cream, and are justly proud of the high-quality Italian style ‘helados’ that are available. Don Pedro is a popular dessert in many restaurants, made with good-quality vanilla and a generous amount of whisky. Ice cream and whisky are also blended together as a cocktail, decorated with grated chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml/4 tbsp dulce de leche
  • about 1 litre/

Method

  1. Chill four ice cream glasses or individual dishes in the refrigerator or freezer (make sure the glasses are suitable for freezing if you take this option) until well-chilled.
  2. Spoon 15ml/1 tbsp dulce de leche into each glass, then add two scoops of ice cream. Add 30ml/2 tbsp of whisky each.
