These meringues are flavoured with the zest of a green lemon and chopped walnuts and served dusted lightly with cocoa. The recipe comes from a Viennese friend who migrated to Australia in the late 1930s. I was fascinated by the stories of her life in a glorious Vienna between the wars - a time and place filled with music, parties and wonderful cakes. She gave me enough recipes to fill a small book, if only I could read her microscopic writing!
