Pasta with Sunday Gravy

Don’t let the word gravy scare you off—it’s just what many Italian-American families call tomato sauce. As in many Italian families, pasta with “Sunday gravy” was a fixture in my home when I was growing up. My mother would put on a big pot of rich sauce early in the morning and let it simmer slowly until dinnertime. The slow cooker is an ideal way to cook this sauce, which makes more than enough for one meal. Just use what you need and allow the remaining sauce to cool. Then portion
