This refined salad makes my mouth water. Cherries and almonds are a common pairing in the dessert world, so it follows that they are well partnered in the savory world as well.

For the cherries, toss all the ingredients together and let sit for 30 minutes to 3 hours.
For the vinaigrette, strain off 2 Tbsp (30 mL) of the cherry liquid (or use red wine vinegar) and whisk in the honey and mustard. Whisk in the oil gradually until the vinaigrette is smooth and creamy. Stir in the chopped chives and season to taste.
Arrange the tender greens on a platter. D
