I usually have all of these ingredients in my kitchen at any one time. It’s also an easy recipe to tweak – swap the ramen noodles for ready-made gyoza (or use both) and stir in a bit of leftover cooked chicken. You could also add sliced chillies or boiled eggs (halved) to garnish, if you like.

Ingredients

  • ½ tablespoon sunflower or vegetable oil

Method

Heat the oil in a saucepan over a medium heat. Add the onions and fry for a few minutes or until soft and beginning to turn brown.

Pour in the broth along with 300 ml (10 fl oz) water, bring to a s
