Vanilla sauce and pudding are versatile staples. The ingredients and preparation are the same for both sauce and pudding, but the difference is in the amount of cornstarch. The sauce has less cornstarch than the pudding and will therefore be thinner. When refrigerated, the sauce will firm up but is easily reheated to a pourable consistency. The pudding will set up to be thicker. If you have never used whole vanilla beans before, this recipe is a good time to try. The vanilla bean adds a fre
