Method

Prepare dough #1670, roll out until thin, stamp out circles with a glass, transfer them to buttered paper, and cover with the following mixture: Scald ½ glass poppy seeds with boiling water, cover, and set aside 1 hour. Pour off the water, squeeze the poppy seeds dry in a napkin, grind in a stoneware bowl, and add ¼ lb sugar, some cinnamon, and 2 eggs. Mix, spread on top of the dough, and bake.
