  • 3 large navel oranges
  • 3 pounds [1.3 kg] tart apples such as Granny Smith, stem remo

Method

Slice zests off the oranges, leaving as little pith attached to the zests as possible. Squeeze the oranges and reserve the juice.

Slice the applies and combine them, in a nonaluminum pot that has a lid, with the lemon juice, orange juice, and orange zests. Cover the pot and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes, remove the lid, and continue simmering, stirr
