  • About

If ever a regional drink complemented the region’s food, it is the Margarita, the champagne of the Southwest. Inevitably, drinks arrive with an assortment of velvety guacamole, hot salsa, and chicos fried up like popped corn.

Ingredients

  • 1 lime slice
  • Kosher salt
  • Ice cubes
  • 3 ounces tequila

Method

Rub the rim of the glass with the lime.

Pour a little salt in a flat dish and dip the glass in the salt to form a light coating around the rim.

Fill the cocktail shaker with 6 to 8 ice cubes.

Add the tequila, Triple Sec, and lime juice and shake briskly until the container begins to frost.

Strain into the salt-rimmed glass and serve.
