  • About

This version of garlic bread oozes with butter and is for dedicated garlic lovers – if you prefer a subtler flavour, use less garlic. Parsley, celery leaves, mixed herbs or chives can be used in place of coriander.

Ingredients

  • 1 stale baguette
  • 125 g (4 oz) butter
  • 4

Method

  • Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 6/200°C/400°F.
  • Melt the butter with the garlic in a small pan. Stir in the coriander.
  • Make diagonal slashes in the loaf – as if you were slicing the loaf but without cutting right through – at 5 cm (2-inch) intervals
