- white flour ¼ lb.
- lard
- Rub the lard into the flour.
- Mix it with the meal.
- Add sugar, salt, cream of tartar and bicarbonate of soda.
- Moisten with milk.
- Knead well.
- Cut into 4.
- Place on a floured tin in a quick oven till nicely browned.
