Ingredients

  • Gooseberries full ripe
  • to every pound of pulp 3 quarts water
  • to every gallon of liquor

Method

  1. Crush the gooseberries.
  2. Measure the pulp.
  3. Boil 3 quarts of water for every quart of pulp.
  4. Let the water get quite cold before you put the pulp into it.
  5. Stir and stand 27 hours.
  6. Strain through a sieve.
