Ingredients

  • Green tomatoes 10 lb.
  • salt
  • vinegar 2 quarts

Method

  1. Slice the tomatoes into a dish and sprinkle each layer with salt.
  2. Let them remain all night.
  3. Next day put in a preserving pan the vinegar, sugar, onions (sliced), pepper and spices.
  4. Drain the tomatoes from the salt and add them.
  5. Also the apples pared, cored and sliced.
  6. Simmer all the ingredients till tend
