Ingredients

  • Ripe tomatoes 1 gallon
  • red pepper 5 pods
  • salt

Method

  1. Peel tomatoes.
  2. Cook with red pepper (chillies) till tender.
  3. Rub through a hair sieve.
  4. Stir the salt, pepper and allspice thoroughly into it.
  5. Add vinegar.
  6. Boil slowly for 3 or 4 hours.
  7. Bottle while still warm and cork tightly.
