  • Beef — any coarse piece cut into a neat slab, thick ribs or similar piece
  • carrots
  • peas
  • small onions
  • pepper

Method

  1. Prepare the vegetables and arrange them as a thick layer in a fireproof oven dish with a lid.
  2. Place the meat on the vegetables.
  3. Season with pepper and salt.
  4. Hot water just enough to cover the meat.
  5. Cook slowly.
  6. Pour off gravy.
  7. Remove fat.
  8. Thicken the gravy with the lentil flour.
