This is a Lancashire (Bolton-le-Moors) Sunday supper dish eaten with slices of currant bread. (For recipe for Lancashire currant bread)

Ingredients

  • Onions
  • milk
  • salt
  • grated cheese.

Method

  1. Boil the onions in milk, or milk and water with a little salt.
  2. When done drain but do not drain too dry.
  3. Chop them up and stir grated cheese in them.
  4. Return to pan, reheat, then serve.
