This is a very old English drink, and the recipe is sent by Mr. S. Taylor of Haverthwaite, Ulverston.

Ingredients

  • Ale 1 quart
  • white wine any kind 1 pint
  • nutmeg

Method

  1. Make the ale and wine hot.
  2. Add sugar and nutmeg.
  3. Roast some crab apples, and float them on the hot ale.
