  • Plain flour ½ lb.
  • fine oatmeal ½ lb.
  • treacle

Method

  1. Sieve the flour and bicarbonate of of soda together 3 times.
  2. Mix in with it the oatmeal and ground ginger.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar together.
  4. Warm the treacle and add that.
  5. Add the flour, oatmeal, and soda you have sieved.
  6. Mix well, put in a lined cake tin and bake in a moderate oven about 2 hours.
