  • Flour lb.
  • treacle (golden syrup) 1 lb.
  • butter or lar

Method

  1. Sieve the flour and ground ginger together into a basin.
  2. Shred the peel finely and add the flour.
  3. Put the butter, treacle and sugar into a stewpan to dissolve.
  4. Beat the eggs in a small basin.
  5. Mix the flour and ginger with the treacle, butter and sugar.
  6. Put the bicarbonate of soda into another small basin
