These appear to be as much a South Country dainty as girdle scones and pikelets are of the North of England. They were made for Mothering Sunday and Mrs. Baverstock of Horseshoe Cottage, Chilbolton, Stockbridge, Hants, still makes them and exhibited some at the first Exhibition of the English Folk Cookery Association in 1931.
