Ingredients

  • Blackberries 1 gallon
  • boiling water 1 gallon
  • lump sugar

Method

  1. Bruise the berries.
  2. Pour the boiling water over them
  3. Let the mixture stand for 24 hours, stirring occasionally; then
  4. Strain on to the sugar.
  5. Let it stand until dissolved, then put into barrel and keep there until the following October.
