Ingredients

  • Hops 1 cupful (½ pint)
  • water 1 gallon

Method

  1. Boil the hops in the water for 2 hours.
  2. Then strain them out.
  3. Add honey or sugar enough to sweeten the liquid.
  4. Pour the mixture into an earthen vessel.
  5. Float a slice of toast on top with a spoonful of brewers’ yeast on it (if you can’t get brewers’ yeast, cream ½
