This recipe comes from Marjorie Greetham. Both she and her mother before her used to make this wine recipe before and after the war – they also made ginger beer but the bottles kept exploding! She was a great Yorkshire cook and made use of any ‘free’ food, including the patch in the garden with rhubarb. Back then ‘real’ wine was a luxury only the elite could afford.
