Bring roast to room temperature and spray with olive oil. Spray all surfaces of the meat, as this will help the rub stay in place.
Mix dry ingredients in a small bowl and rub well into crown lamb roast. Put lamb and remaining rub in plastic bag and marinate overnight in refrigerator.
Prepare the smoker or barbecue, about 225°-250° degrees. If using barbecue use indirect heating
