Brush both sides of the onion slices with the marinade and grill alongside ribs, steaks or roasts on a hot grill (500° to 650°).
Brush the onions with sauce several times while cooking until the onions begin to char on each side, about 4 to 5 minutes. Remove onions from the grill with a spatula and put them on plates with steaks. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and paprika on each slice.
