Named for our dear friend Colin Kerr, who perfected the art of popcorn well before the rest of us. The only change that I’ve made is to use the very hot pan from popping the corn to melt the butter and soften some garlic.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup [100 g] popcorn kernels
  • Neutral oil
  • 4 oz

Method

In a large stockpot, combine 2 or 3 popcorn kernels and a couple glugs of neutral oil over medium-high heat. Cover with a lid. When the kernels pop, add the rest of the popcorn, replace the lid, and shake the pan to evenly coat and distribute the kernels in the pot.
