Place the peaches in a medium saucepan. Add the sugar, spices, and butter (or margarine). Mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water, then add to the peach mixture. Simmer, stirring gently, over low-to-medium heat, about 15 minutes, until a thick syrup forms. As the fruit cooks, place the flou
