This is another of my favorite dishes my grandmother Giulia used to make. Because they cook only in the moisture the tomatoes release, these beans have a rich tomato flavor. Do not be alarmed by the length of time the beans cook in this recipe. Although they are usually tender in 8 minutes when cooked in boiling water, it takes much longer when they are stewed in tomatoes.
