This is another of those dishes I remember my mother putting in my Thermos for my school lunch. Veal, mushrooms, and cream go particularly well together, especially when served with rice. Prepackaged “veal stew” meat always seems suspect to me, so I buy either boneless veal shoulder or shoulder chops and then cut the meat into chunks myself.
